Sheriff Says Invest in Kids to Reduce Crime

Thank you Sheriff Bud York of Warren County!

Sheriff York testified at a joint hearing on education spending in the 2012-13 Executive Budget in favor of a $20 million investment in QUALITYstarsNY. Sheriff York says that QUALITYstarsNY will, in the long run, lead to fewer criminals in jail. This is because children who attend quality early care and learning programs experience many benefits; they are less likely to repeat grades, less likely to need special education, less likely to be teen parents, more likely to graduate high school, more likely to have a job and less likely to end up in jail. We know that investments in the early years makes sense and saves cents! Spread the word!
